Unbundling software subscription

Updated: Aug 14, 2020

The need for reskilling has never been greater. The World Economic Forum declared a reskilling emergency as more than 1 billion jobs, almost one-third of all jobs worldwide, will be transformed by technology. And that is before the emergence of COVID-19. What the pandemic has done is to accelerate the pace of digital transformation and change the way we work.

One smart approach to upskilling is to be agile in learning, especially in the technology segment. One way is to build your knowledge of a specific software or applications and deepen your expertise by practicing, practicing and practicing.

However, there are two terrible flaws in this approach.

a) It takes time and iteration to find which software works for you.

b) Most of the software providers offer only subscription-based model.

The later is a major flaw because you have to subscribe to lots of software (and pay lots of money) before finding the right one.

You know the importance of reskill, you want to reskill but the system doesn't allow you too.

This is… frustrating.

Fortunately, there is an alternative to this inflexible, unadaptable and lack-of-mobility system.

Fairware unbundles software subscription and offers users billable software usage by hours.

We call this "Fairmium".

Fairmium is:

a) Not a freemium

b) Not a premium

c) Offers same functionality as premium, but users only pay for what they use (hourly)

Our point in all this is to prompt you to rethink software subscription. Do you want to learn new software? Are you a light user?

If the answer to both questions are yes, then it's time for a subscription revolution. Join us.
